(@oualido) February 11, 2026 This incident follows last week's deployment of Algerian troops just meters from Ksar Ich on the Moroccan side. Those actions, described as provocations, involved marking stones with lime and firing warning shots into the air. Additionally, a helicopter was seen flying over the area on the Algerian side of the oasis. The latest maneuver coincides with recent discussions on the Western Sahara issue, held on Sunday and Monday at the U.S. embassy in Madrid, which included Algeria's participation. This involvement reportedly unsettled some Algerian generals.
