The quake occurred at a depth of 143 kilometers, with its epicenter located near Ouarzazate. While classified as moderate in magnitude, the earthquake was relatively deep, which reduced its surface impact. Authorities reported that the shaking was generally weak and, in many areas, not felt, according to Volcano Discovery. User reports indicate that the tremor was experienced in Marrakech, approximately 69 kilometers west of the epicenter, where residents described brief lateral or vertical shaking lasting one to two seconds. Earlier in the day, a separate shallow magnitude 3.3 quake was recorded east of Setti Fadma at a depth of 23 kilometers. No damage or injuries have been reported in connection with either event.
