DR ‹ › The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has referred the incidents that occurred during the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League match between Al Ahly (Egypt) and AS FAR (Morocco), played in Cairo on Sunday, February 15, to its Disciplinary Committee for investigation. CAF said on Monday it also strongly condemned the events, stressing that any individuals found guilty will face sanctions in accordance with its regulations, the organization said on Monday. The match, which ended in a goalless draw, was overshadowed by incidents attributed to sections of the Egyptian club's supporters. Water bottles were reportedly thrown at AS FAR players, and their access to the dressing rooms was obstructed. Moroccan fans were also targeted in similar bottle-throwing incidents. AS FAR's management had previously condemned what it described as the «unsportsmanlike conduct» of certain Al Ahly supporters, stating that such behavior poses a direct threat to the safety of players and technical staff. The club said that it had formally contacted CAF over the matter.
