DR ‹ › During the 60th edition of the ITB Berlin travel trade show in Berlin, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) launched a strategic offensive to accelerate growth in the German market, reaffirming Morocco's status as a priority destination. Led by ONMT Director General Achraf Fayda and Hamid Bentahar, President of the National Tourism Confederation, the Moroccan delegation, supported by Ambassador Zohour Alaoui, showcased strong public-private alignment. Morocco deployed a 1,000 m² pavilion with more than 140 tourism professionals and representation from seven regions, including Oriental, Fès-Meknès, and Souss-Massa, said ONMT in a press release this Wednesday. On the connectivity front, agreements were signed with German airlines Condor, Eurowings, and Discover Airlines to increase capacity and open new routes. Royal Air Maroc also strengthened its German network, launching new links between Nador and Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, alongside the recently introduced Casablanca–Munich route. Overall air capacity will rise by 34% for the 2025–2026 season. ONMT also reinforced distribution partnerships, consolidating its alliance with TUI and signing a strategic agreement with Der, Germany's second-largest tour operator, targeting 25% growth over three years. The move builds on strong market momentum: in 2025, more than 930,000 German tourists visited Morocco, up 11% year-on-year. Germany is now Morocco's seventh-largest source market, accounting for 5% of international arrivals.
