With his endorsement, the number of senators backing Ted Cruz's proposal rises to four. Additionally, a similar initiative introduced in June 2025 by Republican Representative Joe Wilson and Democratic Representative Jimmy Panetta has already garnered the support of ten American lawmakers, aiming to classify the Polisario Front as a terrorist group.
