DR ‹ › In 2025, Morocco solidified its status as a dominant force in the cucumber market, emerging as a primary supplier to Spain by capturing a substantial portion of the country's total cucumber imports. As per available data, Moroccan cucumbers represented a striking 71.71% of Spain's imports in that year, amounting to 18,240 tons out of a total of 25,440 tons. This underscores the significant foothold Moroccan cucumbers have secured in the Spanish market. Spain's total cucumber imports in 2025 were valued at 30.9 million euros, marking an impressive surge of over 248% in volume and a staggering increase of more than 340% in value compared to 2016. Moroccan cucumber exports to Spain alone were worth 21.1 million euros in 2025, with an average import price of 1.16 euros per kilogram. These figures highlight a remarkable decade-long growth, with exports soaring by approximately 313.7% and volume increasing by 215.6% over the past ten years. Meanwhile, other suppliers trailed behind Morocco. Germany ranked second with an 11.08% share of Spain's cucumber imports, valued at 4.29 million euros. Portugal followed with 9.11%, valued at 2.49 million euros. The Netherlands accounted for 2.10%, valued at 0.91 million euros, while France rounded out the top five with 1.86%, valued at 453,949 euros.
