This morning, at the headquarters of the Government Presidency, King Mohammed VI's advisors met with the leaders of the political parties represented in both Houses of Parliament to discuss the Moroccan Autonomy Plan. According to a party source who attended the meeting and requested anonymity, the royal advisors asked the party general secretaries to submit their proposals for updating the autonomy initiative to the Royal Palace within ten days. In attendance were royal advisors Fouad Ali El Himma, Taïb Fassi-Fihri, and Omar Azziman, alongside Minister of the Interior Abdelouafi Laftit and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita. As a reminder, during his address on October 31, King Mohammed VI announced that Morocco would «proceed with the updating and detailed formulation of the Autonomy Proposal for subsequent submission to the United Nations». Meanwhile, Staffan de Mistura, the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for the Sahara, stated last week that he is awaiting Morocco's updated autonomy plan before resuming negotiations between the Kingdom, Algeria, the Polisario, and Mauritania.
