DR ‹ › A mobile consulate was set up over the weekend in Ibiza, providing proximity services and support to members of the Moroccan community living in Spain's Balearic Islands. The initiative forms part of the outreach policy led by the Consulate General of Morocco in Palma de Mallorca for Moroccans residing in Spain, in line with royal guidelines and directives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates. Ibiza was selected due to its high concentration of Moroccan nationals, considered one of the most dynamic communities in the Balearic Islands. The community plays an active role in the region's social, economic, and cultural life while maintaining strong ties to its identity and heritage. During the operation, a wide range of consular services was provided, including the issuance of biometric passports, electronic national identity cards, Adoul notarial acts, and anthropometric records. Personalized assistance was also offered on administrative, social, and notarial matters. Many beneficiaries, including residents from the nearby island of Formentera, welcomed the initiative, noting that it spared them the need to travel during the week to Palma de Mallorca to complete administrative procedures. The Consulate General plans to expand the initiative by organizing additional mobile consulates in other regions, with the aim of improving access to services for Moroccan citizens wherever they reside.
