DR ‹ › The Moroccan Embassy in Portugal organized a mobile consulate on Saturday for the benefit of the Moroccan community in Porto and surrounding areas, as part of efforts to bring consular services closer to nationals living in the region. The outreach operation, which continued through Sunday, falls within the proximity policy adopted by the embassy's consular services in Lisbon, in line with royal instructions and the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad. The initiative aimed to provide a full range of consular services to Moroccans in Porto and nearby areas, sparing them the need to travel to Lisbon and allowing them to maintain their professional and family commitments. More than 600 consular services were delivered during the operation, benefiting nearly 400 citizens who were able to complete various administrative procedures. Services provided included consular registration, passport and national ID renewal, civil status documents, signature legalization, and the issuance of official documents, as well as the processing of requests and responses to citizens' inquiries in their country of residence. The operation saw strong turnout and was widely praised by members of the Moroccan community, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of services and called for the initiative to be continued. The Moroccan Embassy in Lisbon also commended the cooperation of members of the Assalam Association in the success of the operation.
