DR ‹ › The African Union (AU) Commission has expressed its deep appreciation to Morocco for what it described as the «exemplary» organization of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025). In a statement, AU Commission Chairperson Mahamoud Ali Youssouf conveyed «the Commission's profound gratitude to His Majesty the King, the government, and the people of the Kingdom of Morocco» for the successful staging of the tournament. He also praised Morocco's hospitality and the high level of professionalism displayed throughout the competition. «The success of AFCON once again highlights Africa's growing capacity to host world-class sporting events that unite the continent and earn global admiration», Youssouf said. «The tournament has once again demonstrated that football is a powerful force for unity, bringing Africans together beyond cultures, borders, and generations», he added. Youssouf concluded by wishing all African teams, including Morocco, continued success as they carry Africa's pride and passion onto the global stage, particularly at this year's World Cup.
