DR ‹ › Thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail, snowfall, and strong wind gusts accompanied by local dust storms are expected on Saturday and Sunday in several provinces across Morocco, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said in an orange-level weather alert. Heavy thundery showers, with rainfall between 30 and 40 mm and possible hail, are forecast from Saturday at 10:15 a.m. to Sunday at 10 a.m. in the provinces of Ouezzane, Chefchaouen, Jerada, Figuig, Guercif, Taourirt, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Boulemane, Fez, and Taza. Snowfall ranging between 10 and 20 cm, above 1,800 meters, is also expected over the same period in Midelt, Khénifra, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, and Tinghir. In addition, strong winds with gusts reaching 75 to 90 km/h, along with local dust storms, are forecast on Sunday from midnight to 9 p.m. in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Taourirt, Guercif, Taza, and Boulemane.
